Are you are unfamiliar with the mythic imaginations of African peoples?
Join Helen Nde, curator of the storytelling platform Mythological Africans, to discover the rich tapestry of traditional folklore from different parts of the African continent. Part 1 of this 3-part series will focus on stories of tragedy, heartbreak and grief. This session will include live readings, background information about the cultures out of which the stories come, and relevant additional folklore for context. The discussion will focus on familiar motifs, symbols, and plot lines in folktales from other parts of the world, as well as on what the stories reveal about what is universal in human nature.
Join us for Part 2 of 3: “Comedic Folktales” and Part 3 of 3: “Romantic Folktales”
