Host Training: Finding Community IRL
Wednesday February 7 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
Join frequent IRL host and Interintellect editor Timothy Wilcox to discuss the art of hosting an IRL event. We'll discuss planning, preparations, resources, meeting up, and fostering a great experience.
I’ve hosted casual community meetups, museum trips, literary readings, and more. My most involved event was an 18-person reading of James Joyce’s experimental novel Finnegans Wake spread out across stations along a 1.7 mile park loop complete with map, brochure, and free copies of the book—but an IRL can be a simple gathering at a nice outdoor spot, a café, or chatting in a nice venue.
Making sure everyone ends up at the same spot, feels welcome, and a local community is able to bloom requires skills which you can learn. Want to connect with Interintellect members near you? Join our discussion and leave ready to to set up your own memorable IRL event.
