In the second of a three part series on the TV show Mad Men, Vivek hosts a discussion on persuasion as seen through the lens of the show.
What can we learn about delivering a sales pitch from the show? From presentations to prestigious clients and proposals from employees to bosses to idea sharing between peers, the theme of persuasion was central to the show. As Peggy Olson puts it, they are “in the persuasion business” after all. What do the most successful pitches have in common? What do the best persuaders in the show have to teach us, if anything, about the art of selling an intangible idea? The best sales pitches tell a story. What story does Mad Men tell us through it’s great ad campaign pitches?
