Details: Fear is a natural and important emotion that serves to protect us from danger. However, when we allow fear to hold us back from pursuing our dreams and desires, it can prevent us from leading fulfilling lives. In order to overcome this fear, it is helpful to understand where it is coming from and how we can take control of it.
One effective way to do this is through the practice of fear setting. In this salon, we will explore a practice called “fear setting,” as introduced by entrepreneur Tim Ferriss in his TED talk. Fear setting involves analyzing our biggest fears, examining the worst case scenario and how we can reduce the downside, and increasing the possibility of success. We will use this practice to help us face and overcome our fears. Fear setting involves breaking down our fears into three categories: the worst case scenario, the probability of this scenario occurring, and the impact of this scenario. By examining each of these elements, we can better understand our fears and how we can take steps to reduce the downside and increase the possibility of success. We also examine the cost of inaction on our lives and remember that doing nothing has its own risk.
In this discussion, we will explore the practice of fear setting in more depth and apply it to our own fears and goals. We will share our fears with one another and work together to analyze the worst case scenario, probability, and impact, and develop strategies for reducing the downside and increasing the possibility of success.
Overall, this discussion is an opportunity for us to face and overcome our fears, and take control of our lives in a meaningful and fulfilling way. It is also a chance to connect with one another and share our experiences and insights in a supportive and understanding environment.
