Sparks Between Us: The Lust For Life
October 1, 2021 at 11:00 pm - 2:00 am SMT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
When was the last time you felt enthusiastic about living life? Is the world a dangerous place? Or is it ripe with pleasures to be discovered?
How we grew up experiencing pleasure affects how we determine self-worth. A healthy integration of our sub-personalities, an abundance mindset, and a strong sense of havingness are central to expressing our eroticism. An overflowing ‘eroticism’ is the ability to share our vitality with the world through a playful ‘flirtation with life’. Does someone come to mind?
In this salon, we’ll uncover the meaning of eroticism and how we can maintain a lustful energy for meaning, purpose, adventure and connection.
“I wanted kicks – the kind of melodramatic thrills and chills I’d yearned for since childhood, the kind of adventure I’d found as a little boy in the pages of my Tintin comic books. I wanted to see the world – and I wanted the world to be just like the movies”― Anthony Bourdain
How do you fall in love with life? Whenever we embody lust for the things around us, the emotions we emanate are powerful, yet fleeting. It’s a state of mind we strive to have every day. How does one reach that point?
Then comes the flirting: with experiences, places, and people. Do you treat everything with love? Do you flirt with strangers differently than with loved ones? In the pursuit of finding ourselves by interacting with the world, we expand our definitions of eroticism. It goes beyond sex and physical intimacy, in the form of a vitality in living we can’t help but share with other people.
“You make me think of Casanova, except that in between the erotic, Casanova was boring, while you, in between eroticism and even because of it, you get profound.” ― Anaïs Nin, A Literate Passion: Letters of Anais Nin & Henry Miller, 1932-1953
To be larger than life is a wonderful goal for many, but is it for everyone? Just as we gain so much from sharing our vitality around us, there is a dark side to this. Becoming larger than life involves changing our relationships with those in our lives, and it doesn’t always go the direction we want.
Join us as we flirt with life and explore what it means to be lovingly lustful.
“Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music – the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.”― Henry Miller
