The Art of Hosting is a new host training series, where Interintellect producer Maria Górska-Piszek interviews experienced ii hosts in search for their secrets, hard-won lessons, tips, and best practices. In this first episode, we’ll talk to Interintellect founder Anna Gát, who has hosted hundreds of online and offline salons since 2019.
In this training, we’ll go back to the basics and cover recurring questions from new and returning hosts, as well as best practices around salon facilitation and structure. We’ll focus on what is needed to succeed at hosting: bringing in as many attendees as you’d like, and making sure everybody including the host is having a great time:
- Will my idea make a great salon topic?
- How do I write a salon description that will make people care?
- Where can I find people who might be interested?
- Asking people to pay for my salon feels awkward. How do hosts normally deal with this?
- What if nobody shows up, or the conversation spirals out of control?
- How can I make everybody feel welcome?
There will be plenty of time to discuss your own questions, too.
No matter if you’re an experienced host or just about to embark on your hosting journey, we want you to leave this session equipped with everything you need to make your next salon a great success.
