As a once English studies graduate student, I have a stake in this conversation, but I’m curious to hear from others from other disciplines who find the humanities important or valuable. So much of what we do now – thanks to emerging technologies such as TikTok – seem to be slashing our attention spans and helping us work and learn more flexibly. How does the English major then find a place in modernity?
