Join Casper ter Kuile, author of The Power of Ritual and the co-founder of The Nearness and the Sacred Design Lab, for a conversation with Wayfare Magazine editor Zachary Davis about how religious and spiritual life is changing and how modern seekers can develop richer sources of meaning and wholeness.
Organized religious communities have seen steep declines in participation in recent decades and the rise of the “nones” is a well-rehearsed story. But that story isn’t just about loss and lack. New forms of spiritual life and meaning-making are emerging that seek to fill the universal longings of the human heart: belonging, transformation, and love.
Casper ter Kuile has studied this horizon of spiritual frontier for years and with The Nearness, is part of the vanguard of modern spiritual innovation. We’ll discuss what he’s seen, what he’s learned, and what he predicts the future of spirituality will look like in the decades to come.
