Thinking about Not-knowing: Actions and Results
Thursday June 22 at 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm CEST
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
Not-knowing what actions and results are possible simply means admitting the possibility that there are actions to be taken that we don’t know about yet, and they might produce outcomes that we haven’t yet thought about. This form of not-knowing is the source of new techniques for painting, new ways of making vaccines, and new business models — among many other things that are new.
Some topics we’ll cover:
- As technology advances, we have more and more tools at our disposal. How does having more tools change what kinds of actions we could take in any given situation?
- How does the increasing complexity and interconnectedness of the world change the types of outcomes we have access to?
- How should we think about outcomes that are created or modified by conditions beyond our direct control?
This is the 6th episode in an Interintellect series about not-knowing.
Pre-reading: “Not-knowing about actions and outcomes.”
Optional (but probably useful!): Check out previous articles on thinking more clearly about not-knowing.
The event will be recorded.
