Unite and Win | Author Talk with the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee – New Labor Book Series #18
Wednesday August 28 at 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm PDT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
Join by three guests who organize with the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC), about their recently released guide to worker organizing: Unite and Win: the Workplace Organizer’s Handbook—Daphna Thier, organizer and educator at EWOC, Terry Davis, a retired labor organizer formerly at the United Electrical Radio Machine Workers of America (UE), and Atulya Dora-Laskey, a member of the Chipotle Union of Teamsters’ Organizing and Bargaining committee.
We will talk about EWOC’s particular approach to supporting worker organizing and delve into the experiences and lessons that our guests have learned about each of the core elements of organizing at work — developing an organizing committee, having organizing conversations, taking collective action, and inoculating yourselves against the boss’s inevitable response.
Event attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Unite and Win, thanks to support from Roy Bahat and Bloomberg Beta. Instructions for getting your copy will be shared during the event.
