Writing With AI – Or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying & Love The Machines
October 27, 2022 at 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm CEST
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
A writer’s work can often feel lonely. Writer and experimenter Char Putney knows this all too well. But she comes with good news – you’re no longer alone! The robots are here, and they’re very keen to help. From procedural generation to artificial intelligence, there’s never been a more exciting time to play with words.
This hands-on workshop salon is aimed at writers and the curious souls out there who love to try out new things for the hell of it. We’ll start by introducing the current state of AI and procedural generation for writers, before sharing a few experiments you can easily try in-salon with free tools: training an artificial intelligence on your own work, generating procedural poetry, figuring out what’s going to happen next in your plots, and more! We’ll go slow and steady – holding hands as we venture forth, with plenty of time for questions and iterations.
We’ll then make an “exquisite corpse” together by using prompts and input from direct audience participation along with the inhuman genius of artificial intelligence to cobble together a unique piece of writing co-authored by all attendees.
No advance reading or preparation necessary – all you need is a computer connected to the internet and a keen sense of curiosity. Come join Char for a creative & communal experience! ❤️
