About me:
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI by refugees of the Khmer Rouge (you’re strongly encouraged to Google the term if you’ve never heard of it!) who met in the United States in the 80s. As a child, I imagined I would grow up to do something creative in his career: be a music journalist or novelist, poet or photographer, or even a chemist spending most of the day mixing essential colors together between large beakers in order to create new colors, which was my understanding of what chemists did.
Fast forward to adulthood, I developed a passion for mission-driven work that improves people’s lives materially. I became a teacher and organizer and now work in tech in Developer Relations as a community engagement strategist, facilitator, and product marketer. I do write occasionally and continue to take photos, albeit in my spare time.
I’m both philosophically inclined and predisposed to focus on topics that I already enjoy expertise in to some degree. I’ve been part of the Interintellect community on-and-off for about 2 years now, and I adore its purpose and the authentic passion of members for their community and because they too see learning as a pursuit that endures our whole lives and confers its own kind of joy.
