Host Agreement and Code of Conduct
Please make sure you have read and understood the
based on which your attendees set their expectations of Interintellect events.
Please make sure you have read and understood this Host Agreement based on which Interintellect sets its expectations of you:
Getting Started
Anyone can create an account on the Interintellect site and start listing an event on the Dashboard.
If you have not yet onboarded as a host, you will be asked to complete the Host Onboarding process when you hit the “Create” button at the bottom of the listing page:
Fill out your Host Profile: A public profile on interintellect.com/hosts under which all of your upcoming and past events are visible.
Connect your Stripe Account: Connecting a Stripe account enables you to receive automatic payouts from the ticket sales associated to your salon.
After completing the Host Onboarding, you will be able to submit your first event through the Event Dashboard.
All event submissions are subject to a 48 hour editorial review process. You will receive an email when your event is published or if our editors have suggestions.
Getting Paid
Revenue Share: Hosts keep 85% of gross ticket sales revenue after the booking fee. This 85% is then subject to Stripe’s processing fee, which is deducted before the remaining amount is paid out to the host.
Tips: Attendees are invited to tip the host before and after the event. Hosts receive 100% of their tips, which are non-refundable.
Tracking Payments: You can track your ticket sales via your Interintellect payment dashboard, which shows gross ticket revenue (before fees and splits). To view your net payouts, including Stripe processing fees and final amounts received, click through to your connected Stripe dashboard from there.
Payout Schedule
Payouts from your ticket sales are processed through Stripe. Stripe initiates payouts every business day, with a two-business-day processing window.
For example: if someone buys a ticket on Monday, the payout will be initiated on Wednesday. Funds typically arrive in your bank account 1–2 days after the payout is initiated, depending on your bank.
Revenue Distribution
All revenue from an event is paid to the main host (i.e., the person who created the event listing). It's the main host’s responsibility to determine and manage any revenue splits for events featuring co-hosts or guests.
📌 Please note: We do not currently offer invoicing services for hosts or other creators.
Tax Responsibility and Reporting
As a host on the Interintellect platform, you are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes related to income you earn through events you organize and facilitate.
Interintellect does not classify hosts as employees or contractors, and no tax withholdings are made on your behalf. All payouts are processed via Stripe Connect. If you meet the applicable reporting thresholds, Stripe may issue a Form 1099-K or equivalent based on your account activity. For more information, please see Stripe’s tax reporting documentation.
It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with your local tax regulations. Interintellect does not provide tax advice and recommends consulting a tax professional for guidance.
Promotion
Once your event is approved by our Editorial team, it will be published on our website, our public calendar, and the #new-salons channel on our Discord server.
Interintellect highlights some events in our marketing newsletters and on X. Outside of this, the promotion of your event is your responsibility.
Tell your friends and colleagues
Create a 1-2 minute reel introducing yourself and your salon topic
Post in a relevant topic channel (e.g. literature, technology, crypto, history, etc.) on our Discord server
Post about your salon and share relevant thoughts, articles, or videos on your own social media platforms (e.g. X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Substack)
Tag Interintellect on any social media promotion you create for your salon - we’ll share and repost!
Direct message people who you think would be interested — most of our celebrity attendees have come to their first Interintellect salons through cold DMs!
We encourage hosts to list events at least 12 days in advance to allow time for promotion.
Attendance
You can keep track of how many people booked your salon on your Event Dashboard.
Attendee Communication
You can send messages to your attendees using the “Manage > Email attendees” on your Event Dashboard.
During a Salon
Try to encourage equal speaking time between all attendees.
Be mindful that attendees might message you privately over Zoom chat if they have special needs or questions.
Zoom Housekeeping
Below are tips to ensure a smooth run-of-show for your salon:
Add “Host” to your name on Zoom (click on Rename in the top right corner of your little window with your face in it in Gallery View).
Make sure attendees are muted when not speaking
Encourage attendees to turn on their video when speaking
Keep an eye on DMs in your Zoom chat - people might have questions or want to let you know they’re leaving soon.
Add icebreakers into the chat for those who arrived late.

All Interintellect events are automatically recorded to our Zoom cloud.
If you prefer not to record your salon, you may stop the recording at the start of your event.
