Addiction and Disability

Tuesday April 30 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected

$20.00

Pursue the philosophical foundations of addiction in a series hosted by John T. Maier, psychotherapist and philosopher. This is the 3rd session in the philosophy of addiction series, and will focus on addiction and trauma.

In the law, addiction is understood as a kind of disability. This view gives us an alternative picture of how to think about addiction (which I defend in a forthcoming book). How should we think about addiction treatment if we conceive of addiction as a disability?
