New York IRL: Designing Your Life (And Career) – How We Find Our Thing, Change Things, and Let Things Go

December 10, 2023 at 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST

Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected

In his debut Interintellect Salon, Roman Gayduk will facilitate a discussion of how to approach constructing one’s life intelligently. We might touch on design thinking, deciding whether to become a vampire, and what inner work might have to do with all this. Bring your stories of success and failure, and lessons you’ve learned!

We will have a casual group discussion on the topic of designing one’s life. Bring your thoughts and stories. I’ll bring some career coaching experience and my own messy self-discovery journey.

Here are a few interesting ideas to ponder:

  • Who do I have to be to find what’s right for me? – alexithymia, self-knowledge, wants vs shoulds, internal vs external motivation, passion vs convenience are often relevant here
  • How to learn well – exploration of values, optionality of values, designing tests (experiments to learn whether you’d like something)
  • Traps – cults, lock-in, narrowing of identity, societal narratives vs personal truth, assuming complete information or fixed preferences

The exact location will be shared via email and our #USnewyork discord channel.

This is a members only event. Please sign in to RSVP.
