Episode 1: An Introduction to Philosophy of Religion, with Professor Charles Taliaferro

Details
In this first episode of the God and Humanity series, we'll explore what constitutes philosophy of religion beyond the continental and analytic divide. The actual difference between analytic and continental philosophy is hard to trace, with some suggesting it is now a matter of style or scope. We will focus on the work of and be in dialogue with a world renowned philosopher of religion, Professor Charles Taliaferro (St. Olaf College and Cambridge University), author of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy entry on Philosophy of Religion and over 35 books.

Series Details
The relationship between God and Humanity has transformed personal, political, metaphysical, scientific, and many more types of questions across millenia. "God and Humanity" will be anchored in exploring the relationship of divinity to humans, or the absence thereof, through three broad themes: religion and science, ethics, mysticism. All subjects will be addressed through the lens of historical and cutting edge philosophy of religion, and philosophical theology, embracing a new trend to ignore the inflated conflict between continental and analytic philosophy. Christophe Porot, a Scholar in Residence at the Centre for the Study of Platonism @ Cambridge University, and a Doctoral Researcher @ Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne, will curate the reading list and host the Salons. World Renowned Philosophers representing believers and non-believers will join select salons, to enhance the dialogue. Are you ready to explore questions about the universe, spiritual freedom, life and death, love and hope, AI and Imago Dei, metaphysics and physics, souls and brains etc.? If so, join this series that will stretch from Spring into Summer!
