Dreaming about Time with Einstein

Interintellect Anwar AlKandari explores narratives in relation to nature, or different natures, of time – inspired by Einstein’s Dreams book

Physicist and writer Carlo Rovelli says that we understand reality by looking at how things interact with one another, not how things are: “Reality is the network of the way things affect one another”. And this is how physicists are trying to make sense of time, by looking at how it affects other things (such as heat). 

In this salon, we will be exploring our self-narratives with the same mindset which will be in relation to time and its interaction with the way we narrate our stories. We will dive into 4 different worlds, each with different nature of time, from Einstein’s Dreams book:

• A world where time is visible in all places
• A world where texture of time is sticky
• A world where everyone travels at high velocity, to gain time
• A world of shifting pasts

Note: reading the book is not mandatory! Each of the 4 worlds will be briefly introduced, without major spoilers, before we discuss them.
