“I want to inspire more internet-native writers to publish their own books earlier in their journeys and see the upsides of self-publishing” — Paul Millerd
Paul Millerd, writer, creator and consultant, joins us to discuss playing the long game as an internet-native writer—going from blog posts to self-publishing books on your own terms, and share some lessons he learned along his journey. What does the spectrum of publishing models look like? How can writers harness the upsides of self-publishing?
You can read Paul’s step-by-step journey of how he self-published his book in this 8,000-word post explaining every step of the process, or check out the condensed slide deck he put together.
In 2021, Paul Millerd decided to self-publish his book, The Pathless Path, in which he recounts his journey from a “perfect” job with a promising future, to what he calls “the pathless path”, piecing together a set of ideas and principles that guide him from feeling unfulfilled and burned out towards a path focused on doing work that matters.
