As a global community of minds, Interintellect gathers people from all over the world, all walks of life, from many different backgrounds and fields.
We’re all different but are united by our curiosity, openness, and ambition to engage and exchange across borders — geographical, ideological, disciplinary.
In order to guarantee that all discussions — whether in online channels or DMs, or our online or offline events – take place in this spirit, we have a few broad guidelines to follow.
We see ourselves as a community of responsible adults: we trust each other’s judgement and know that another person’s standpoint is that of understanding and benevolence.

Our Principles:

Read about our Four Rules of Hosting.
We are a virtual city of minds where every citizen is an active thinker with their own personal interests and opinions. It is inevitable that we sometimes disagree with each other — in fact, disagreement is a great way to learn new things and update our beliefs. But we always strive to make our disagreements constructive and so we try to be civil and polite, and assume the best intentions from the other person.
At Interintellect we are building a better way to be a public intellectual in the 21st century. As such, we love reading and writing — talking on podcasts or videos. Good language and beautiful writing are welcome not only in our channels dedicated to the craft of writing! Whenever you’re hesitating between an emoji/meme or phrasing your thought in an elegant way in a text or video post, we prefer the elegant way.
One of the best things about our community is that we give each other our attention and time — we are supporters, teachers and readers to one another, and can expect the same care and attentiveness in return. In some channels, this idea is visibly central, but it implicitly applies to our entire “city”: a minute of helpfulness can boost a career, revive someone’s creativity, change someone’s life…!

- Steps to alert the authorities (serious illegal activity)

External Event Promotion
We have channels to share your writing, art, newsletter, job search, socials, etc., and love for the community to be a place for people to share and grow together. For events, though, we do require that our community forum remain a place for people to connect for Interintellect events. If you would like to set-up an event on Interintellect to discuss your favorite topic or meetup with the community, we are here to help. Repeated promotion of external event pages will lead to deactivation of the account.
