Mens Sana in Corpore Sano: Physical Wellbeing for Thinkers – Introduction.
March 1, 2021 at 6:00 pm GMT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
This new track of monthly Interintellect Salons by Ben Fleming address the issues of how to be a physically fit and healthy intellectual: what’s beyond sitting and thinking?
Save the date: this track of ii Salons will run on the first Monday of every month.
The stereotypical intellectual is not a physically fit person. But it is well known that improvements in physical health lead to improvements in cognition, focus, and mental wellbeing.
In this introductory Salon we will be learning about holistic health and what that means practically. Instead of merely working on the body at the expense of the mind, we will be discussing the integration of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing as well as learning practical ways to embed it into our lives.
How does physical and mental health overlap? How exactly does exercise help your thinking? What if you don’t find exercise intellectually stimulating?
Bring your questions and ideas … and your bodies. (There will be – of course – some physical movement involved!)
This salon launches an ongoing series covering physical wellbeing for thinkers on the first Monday of each month. Over the course of the year we will be covering everything from sleep to nutrition to strength to posture and getting deep into the hows and whys of health and fitness.
