In the second salon in the series, let’s talk about whether there is a science to making beautiful cities. What are some basic ground rules for how we can build and maintain aesthetics? I want to hear from all of you whether beautiful cities are spontaneous or planned. If salon goers are game, let’s chat about modern architecture. Is Neoclassical architecture and planning pastiche or the best urban planning tool we have? To those more economically inclined, would YIMBY be a lot easier if new construction was more beautiful or are accounts like this fooling themselves?
