Writer and sex researcher Aella – one of the internet’s most interesting thinkers – is joining Interintellect founder Anna Gát for a salon exploring Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain, a movie you either love or hate, but which you will agree is like no other movie you’ve ever seen.
A young woman in New York City is dying. Her husband, a scientist, is frantically searching for the cure for her disease, rushing to outrace death. In Renaissance Spain, the Inquisition is after the young queen, who is said to be looking for an elixir of immortality. In her despair, the queen sends the man she loves to explore her new colonies, and in the rainforest find the tree rumored to hide the secret of eternal life. In the distant future, a man floats through space with a dying tree that seems to keep him alive through eons of time, with strange visions of a woman dying in today’s New York City… Who is this couple, and what do they know about cheating death and the freedoms of the heart and mind?
