In a new Interintellect Salon, Visakan Veerasamy will cohost with Malcolm Ocean a collective exploration of emotional flashbacks in the context of Malcolm’s dream mashups metaphor:
Everyone is basically living in a dream mashup of their current external situation and their old emotional meanings. Like dreaming you’re at school but it’s also on a boat somehow.
And, as in dreams, somehow the weirdness of this mashup goes unnoticed!
In this Salon, let’s ask and explore:
What are some of the dream mashups you’ve noticed in your life?
- In what ways does your partner remind you of your parents or siblings?
- In what ways is your experience of your professional life mashed up with your experience of school?

How is trying to notice these dream mashups similar to trying to lucid dream, and how is it different?
- What cues usually give you a hint that you’re emotionally caught up in something bigger than the moment?
