The Anatomy of Subcultures and the Identities that Emerge

October 7, 2021 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT

Join Kelsey Oppenheimer in her debut salon to discuss the anatomy of subcultures, their relation to culture at large, and the identities that have formed around them.

In this salon, we are going to dissect subcultures. How have they emerged? Why do they thrive? Are they destined to merge with the larger culture? What is the impact countercultures have on political and social institutions?

We will discuss the identities that emerge from these groups. Is aligning with a subculture about defiance, or is it about belonging?

Are we collectively building a subculture here in the ii?
