On Exploring and Enjoying the Unknown

“Leave the door open for the unknown, the door into the dark. That’s where the most important things come from, where you yourself came from, and where you will go. Three years ago I was giving a workshop in the Rockies. A student came in bearing a quote from what she said was the pre-Socratic philosopher Meno. It read, ‘How will you go about finding that thing the nature of which is totally unknown to you?’ I copied it down, and it has stayed with me since.” – Rebecca Solnit
During this Interintellect Salon we will explore the moments of incertitude in our lives, from moving to a new country, quitting that job, starting a new business, taking the less traveled path.
What did we learn from our past experiences? How can we pass on this knowledge to people who are afraid of jumping into the unknown even if they desire to or need to? Why is change the only constant in life? We will look back at the year that (almost) passed and see what changed and how we navigated these changes and all the unknown in the past months. At the end of the salon we will explore the topic of courage and how can we let go of comfort gracefully, in such a way that it serves our life-long goals and plans.
