In the first salon of this series, host João Mateus will explore the first lesson we must unlearn as adults to become better human beings: confusion. The current educational system promotes it, and we want to design an alternative. Can you help? Come share your own experience and help design a better system!
John Taylor Gatto, in his speech “The 7 Lesson Schoolteacher”, writes:
“The first lesson I teach is confusion. Everything I teach is out of context… I teach the unrelating of everything. I teach disconnections.”
In this first Salon, we’re going to explore the relationship between confusion and the current educational system, trying to find a better alternative.
We’ll ask questions such as:
- Why is confusion taught in schools?
- Is it purposeful?
- How can we unlock clarity for our students in the different decisions they have to make?
Join João and come help create a Modern Golden Age in Education!
