In the seventh salon of the Ideas Shape the World – An Introduction to Social Movements series, hosted by Robert Nemeth, we will discuss counterculture and how it appears today’s world.
Special guests: Mark Taylor, Alethea Harnish
The hippies, the green movement, polygamists and feminists – all of these started as countercultural movements, whose values and norms of behavior differ substantially from those of mainstream society. In the session we will talk about the relationship between current countercultural trends, and the counterculture in 60s, an anti-establishment cultural phenomenon, and maybe also about “Hippie Physics.”
