Tell Me a Story: Why We Write (Session 6 of 6)
May 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
In this six-month Interintellect Salon series, writer and editor Julie Mosow shares everything she knows about writing, becoming the writer you’ve always hoped to be… and, most importantly, about finishing the work you start.
A book used to be the launch of a writer’s career, but now a book is just one piece of a creative professional’s platform. In this salon, we’ll talk about selling, social media, and what it takes (and if it’s worth it!!!) to pursue traditional publication. We’ll demystify the book publishing process and also talk about other ways to earn money from writing.
Beyond the practical, we’ll finish by exploring why we write. Even if we never earn a living from writing, how do we keep going and continue to find pleasure from sitting down on a regular basis to write? And how do we use our writing practice to explore new worlds, learn new things, and bring joy to our lives?
Even if you’ve not attended any other salons in the series, join us!
