What Makes You Make?
August 30, 2022 at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm PDT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
Come explore the hows and whys of creativity with artist and writer, Anne Ross (@annerossart).
All people are creative, but what makes a few of us actually create? What makes you pick up that guitar, or paint brush, or empty page? Do we need to cross this threshold only once? Do we have to wait for inspiration?
Is creativity part of your brain? Is it a separate consciousness? Can you find it when you want? How do you nurture your inner creator? Or does is come from beyond yourself? Can any creative act become art?
Who are we creating for? What can exist only through art? Is your best work when you feel like you can’t not do it? Sometimes we create to deal with stress, trauma, the inexpressible. What are other reasons? Does art change things—yourself, your audience, the world?
