In the fourth salon of the Ideas That Shape the World – An Introduction to Social Movements series, hosted by Robert Nemeth, we will discuss the origins of fascism and how it appears in today’s world.
Fascism, the far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power and strong regimentation of society and the economy rose to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. The term “fascism” or “fascist” is often applied to any right-wing or far-right authoritarian movements, systems or ideas, but fascist movements still exist. What are their characteristics?
