Join fellow Interintellect (and Interintellect fellow) Vidhika Bansal in this salon exploring the joys, challenges, and how-tos of making friends as an adult.

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.” (C. S. Lewis)

Friendship is a beautiful thing: precious but not rare, optional but not replaceable. From weak-tie relationships to BFFs, friendly exchanges tend to make us healthier, happier, more fulfilled humans.

And yet, making new friends in adulthood can be hard. It can feel daunting, complicated, even logistically-hellish.

But does it have to be that way? How can we get better at inviting more of this powerful source of nourishment and belonging into our lives?

No prep required, come as you are!

Totally optional resources to peruse:

Why is it hard to make friends over 30? (The New York Times)

Why making friends in midlife is so hard (The Atlantic)

The purpose of friendship (The School of Life on YouTube)

Overcoming American masculinity to build a deep male friendship (The Atlantic)

Why do we find making new friends so hard as adults (The Conversation)

Hope to see you there! And in the meantime, call a friend ❤️
