I’ll Be There For You: Exploring the Ingredients of Friendship
Saturday May 27 at 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
Start time where you are: Your time zone couldn't be detected
“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” (Anaïs Nin)
Join Interintellect fellow Vidhika Bansal for the first in a series of salons about adult friendship. What are the ingredients of friendship? How can we choose our friends wisely? And what does being a “friend” mean, anyway?
In this salon, we’ll chat about how we view friendship, the purpose we want it to serve in our lives, and our own personal friendship draws and dealbreakers.
We’ll explore questions like:
- What makes a friendship good? What makes one less than good, or even bad?
- How can we learn and discern who’s for us…and who’s not?
- How does our use of the word “friend” change our relationship to friendship, if at all?
No prep required. Just bring your questions, your reflections, your stories, and your friendliest vibes!
If you want to get warmed up and do a little reading or watching on the topic:
The Purpose of Friendship (The School of Life on YouTube)
The Friendship Files (Series by Julie Beck on The Atlantic)
Reclaiming Friendship (Maria Popova on The Marginalian)
Hope to see you there! And in the meantime, call a friend ❤️
